THOUGHTS ON "CHICK FIL-A DAY"
Well, the Chick fill-A Appreciation day is over. I started to say, "History," but I hope the message sent will never be history. It is a message that needs to be heard over and over. This writer believes in traditional marriage - that is marriage as it has been understood and practiced by the majority of humans since the creation (Yes, this writer believes in the creation, too!). It is more importantly marriage as God sets it forth in His Word, the Bible. Jesus said marriage is to between a man and a woman (See Matthew 19:4-6). To believe that, and to say so, is not hate. We can disagree without hating.
The Chick fil-A appreciation day was an overwhelming success. The crowds of people who ate there proves that. The homosexual "kiss-in" was not so successful. Few participated. Which is not surprising since most Americans believe in the and God's Word First Amendment. And, most Americans also love their fellow-man, including homosexuals. They were not showing hate for homosexuals when they supported Chick fil-a in their right to believe what they choose, and their right to say so.
The reports of graffiti on the sides of Chick fil-A buildings actually show a hate on the part of some homosexuals and their supporters. To hold a view and publicize it, is not hate, to accuse someone of hate when they have done nothing to show hate is hate! Obviously, we will never agree that homosexuality is right, and we shouldn't. We will never agree that it is wrong, either. But hate on either side is wrong. It needs to stop. A civil dialogue is needed, and is possible.
